The unit accommodates 3.5″ SATA hard drives in its native drive bay, and with a drive bay adapter, it also supports 2.5″ SATA hard drives and SSDs. This single drive bay enables the storage and sharing of diverse files, such as videos, music, photos, and documents, catering to up to 2048 user accounts.

Powered by the Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) OS, a browser-based operating system, the Synology DS118 Dubai simplifies NAS management. It operates with a 1.4 GHz Realtek RTD1296 Quad-Core CPU and 1GB of DDR4 RAM, ensuring swift access to frequently-used files and applications. The NAS achieves sequential read speeds of up to 113 MB/s and sequential write speeds up to 112 MB/s. It features a dedicated hardware transcoding engine for on-the-fly transcoding of 10-bit 4K H.265 video. Additionally, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports facilitate connectivity with Windows or Mac systems, while the integrated Gigabit Ethernet port supports network connectivity. Remote access to data is possible through free iOS and Android applications.
