This NAS facilitates the storage and sharing of a diverse range of files, including videos, music, photos, and documents, accommodating up to 2048 user accounts and 200 concurrent connections.

Running on the Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) OS, a browser-based system simplifying NAS management, the Synology DS418 Dubai is equipped with a 1.4 GHz Realtek RTD1296 Quad-Core CPU and 2GB of DDR4 RAM. This configuration ensures swift access to frequently-used files and applications. The NAS achieves sequential read speeds of up to 226 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 170 MB/s, with a dedicated hardware transcoding engine capable of on-the-fly transcoding of 10-bit 4K H.265 video. Additional features include two USB 3.0 Type-A ports for connectivity with Windows or Mac systems, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports supporting network connectivity and featuring link aggregation and failover capabilities. Remote data access is facilitated through free iOS and Android applications. The integrated 4K multimedia server enables Video Station and DS video to convert and play 4K videos on devices lacking native support for Ultra HD formats.

For users requiring RAID support, the Synology DS418 Dubai accommodates RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10, as well as Synology Hybrid RAID and Basic RAID, offering diverse options for performance, data redundancy, or a combination of both. Alternatively, for those not needing RAID, JBOD allows individual utilization of each drive bay.

Engineered for energy efficiency, the Synology DS418 Dubai features two 92 x 92mm fans for consistent cooling, coupled with a noise dampening design registering at 20.9 dB(A) for quiet operations.
