Synology DS720 Dubai

The Synology DS720 Dubai is a compact NAS Enclosure designed to simplify data and multimedia management. It features two M.2 2280 NVMe SSD slots that, in conjunction with Synology’s SSD Cache technology, enhance system I/O and application performance. The built-in expansive storage capacity allows for starting small and scaling up as data grows, with the option to expand using Synology’s DX517 expansion unit.

Equipped with two drive bays that natively support 3.5″ SATA hard drives, as well as 2.5″ SATA hard drives and SSDs, the Synology DS720 Dubai enables storage and sharing of a large number of files for up to 2048 user accounts and 1500 maximum concurrent connections.

Running on the Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) OS, a browser-based operating system simplifying NAS management, the Synology DS720 Dubai is powered by a 2.0 GHz Intel Celeron J4125 Quad-Core CPU with a burst frequency of up to 2.7 GHz. Supported by 2GB of DDR4 RAM (upgradable to 6GB), it allows quick access to frequently used files and applications. With its Gigabit Ethernet port, the NAS achieves sequential read speeds up to 225.98 MB/s and sequential write speeds up to 192.21 MB/s, along with encrypted reads at up to 225.99 MB/s and encrypted writes at 200.16 MB/s.

Additional features include two USB 3.0 Type-A ports for host system connectivity, an eSATA port for the DX517, and network connectivity via dual integrated Gigabit Ethernet ports supporting link aggregation and failover. Remote data access is facilitated through free iOS and Android applications. RAID support includes RAID 0 and 1, Synology Hybrid RAID, Basic RAID, and with the DX517, RAID 5, 6, and 10.

Engineered for energy efficiency, the Synology DS720 Dubai incorporates a 92 x 92mm fan for consistent cooling, complemented by a noise dampening design rated at 18.4 dBA for quiet operations. The server supports scheduled power on/off cycles and hard drive hibernation, contributing to minimized power consumption and operational expenses.
